The contract with a worldwide leading bus manufacturer was for the disassembly of the existing dust extraction system and the supply, installation and commissioning of a new one. The existing system did not provide adequate capacity, resulting in the need for a replacement. Another reason was its lack of compliance with explosion safety requirements.
The capacity of the new system is 18,500 m3/h (with 6000 Pa of vacuum). The system is equipped with all required explosion protection and spark detection systems.
Due to the high costs of possible downtime, the system had to be installed during normal operation of the facility within just two weeks.
System specifications:
- capacity/vacuum 18.500m3/h /6000 Pa
- extracted material: wood and composite dusts
- dust separation: impulse pocket filter with the filtration area of 263 m2
- protection against dust explosion by: HRD explosion suppression system, explosion isolation on dust discharge with a certified H-ARP rotary batcher and on filter inlet with am HRD system, spark detection and extinguishing system
Installation:
- using the existing system, with maintaining operation continuity between the installation stages
- only allowed on weekends, in two stages::
- 1st stage – installation of the extraction pipeline and connecting it to the existing filter,
- 2nd stage – installation of the filtration unit and fan, connection to the pipeline, installation of the power and control cabinet, commissioning
SCOPE OF WORKS: detailed design, manufacturing of the filtration unit, installation and commissioning of the carpentry shop dust extraction system
