Water heater | ATEX gas zones | RFA-OS type
The RFA-OS water heater is an excellent source of domestic hot water in technical or laboratory rooms located in explosion hazard Zone 1 or 2 (of explosive gas or vapour liquid atmospheres). These heaters are suitable for the application in chemical processing plants and offshore settings.

The RFA-OS water heater is Ex-proof certified for use in Zone 1 and 2. The body is made of stainless steel and features a single M25 cable gland. The whole product has external and internal earthing. The heating element is a high-quality, NiCr (80/20) resistance wire shielded by powdered magnesium oxide, all of which is housed in an Incoloy 825 body.
The heater is managed with a thermostat, the maximum temperature setting of which is 60°C. The standard version of the RFA-OS water heater has a low water flow cut-out. The water tank is made of copper and pressure-tested at 0.5 barg. The housing is provided with additional corrosion protection. The water tank is insulated with polyurethane.
