Fire on a conveyor belt transporting petroleum coke. A common cause of this phenomenon is the rubbing of the feeder roller or friction of the belt against a structural element. Some time ago, for one of the energy groups, we completed the task of monitoring the temperature of conveyor elements in real time using fibre optic temperature detectors. The solution protects against fire and/or explosion.
The event from the film took place in Brazil in one of the steel production plants. This market is particularly close to me due to our development in this beautiful country, and delicious (though not entirely healthy) cuisine.
Recently, we have conducted several dozen site visits in Brazil in local industrial plants from various industries. From the food industry to chemicals and from automotive to heavy industry. One thing is certain, there is still a lot to be done in the context of process safety in Brazil, and our (Polish) know-how is very well received there.
