For one of the leading furniture manufacturers in Europe, the WOLFF GROUP will supply explosion protection equipment in the form of the HRD suppression systems.

The risk of creating a dust explosive atmosphere in the plant is related to the presence of wood dust. The HRD system will be applied on a new fibreboard forming plant which is constructed for furniture board production for internal use.

In case the system detects a starting point for an explosion, the HRD cylinder will be activated, resulting in the introduction of a special suppressant powder into the protected equipment. This will protect the equipment and the entire plant against the effects of a potential explosion.

The project will be implemented to a “turn-key” standard – the WOLFF GROUP will carry out the pre-installation works and commissioning of the HRD system.

In the last few months, there were several occurrences of explosions and fires in the wood industry. It is, therefore, recommended that the manufacturers pay attention to the problem resulting from the presence of combustible dusts and engage in activities in order to protect not only the production plants, but also the health and lives of their employees.
